Melanie Moroni...St. Francisville Bridals

We met Melanie at Afton Villa in St. Francisville on a scorching hot day…but you wouldn’t know it from how calm Melanie was to how stunning she looked that evening!

Melanie had to reschedule and rearrange her entire wedding plans from a small springtime wedding in Savannah, Georgia due to Covid-19 and though we grieve with her that she didn’t get to have the Savannah wedding she hoped for, we are so thankful we got the honor to be a part of her bridals and wedding. We had a blast with her and her extra helpers at Afton Villa this day and look what stunning photos came out of this plan B.

Continually proving that Corona can’t hold our couples down! Can’t wait to share their wedding photos soon.

Mrs. Jennifer Pate Hardee...St. Francisville, Louisiana Bridals... Afton Villa Gardens

Mrs. Jennifer Pate Hardee was married last weekend to Lee Hardee at  Afton Villa Gardens in St. Francisville.

It was an amazing wedding day that I can't wait to share.

But one of my favorite aspects of photographing wedding details is getting together weeks before the wedding day and doing bridal photos.

I think I love these not only for the tradition behind it but also because it's unique to southern style weddings.

I've heard folks saying bridals are becoming a thing of the past. I hope not. This tradition sets the stage for brides on their wedding day. It makes them more comfortable in front of the camera and helps the girls know how to prepare all details for their hair and dress. It provides sweet memories with the bride's mom, sisters, maid of honor, or even bridesmaids. And beyond that...it provides time, lighting, and a relaxed atmosphere to get photos like these of Jennifer in the location of her wedding just a few weeks before she was married there.

Congratulations Brad & Desiree!...Louisiana Bridals

Brad and Desiree were married last weekend in New Orleans!

Back in the fall I had the honor of photographing Desiree's bridals at Maison Madeleine outside of Lafayette, Louisiana.

This quaint bed and breakfast sitting on Lake Martin has been featured in Southern Living and the Travel Channel's Anthony Bordain: No Reservations. We got to see first hand why it gets so much attention..and it should! History meets modern art in and around this home that is an abandoned 19th Century French-Creole Style. It was moved to its current location and opened as a bed and breakfast in 2001.

Desiree's dad has done work for the family owners and so we set out to Lake Martin to grab some shots of a stunning bride in a stunning location!

I had never been to Avery Island and let me tell you...anyone visiting Louisiana and especially those who are from here should experience it. It's quintessential Louisiana in every way from the bayou to the airboats to the birds to the Tobasco sauce. Even the gift shop at this place made me feel like I was coming home!

This was one of the coolest places I've ever had the privilege to shoot.
