JP & Lindsey, New Orleans Engagements.

Lindsey and JP met me at City Park the week we thought a hurricane might be coming for New Orleans. The day before a potential hurricane turned out to be some solid photoshoot weather and even provided a little wind effect I didn't hate.

JP and Lindsey will be getting married in March and will have folks coming from all over to see New Orleans for the first time! I had a blast finally meeting these two. What a pair!

Congrats you guys.

Tanner & Stephanie Wedding...Baton Rouge Wedding Photography

I've known Stephanie since college and was so thrilled to be a part of Tanner and Stephanie's wedding! Their wedding was a joy and the dance floor was entertaining the whole night!

You might remember Tanner and Stephanie's engagement session from earlier this year! You can view those photos here

There are some couples that I get sad about when all the wedding shoots are over! This is one of them. So thankful to be a part of this and congratulations you two!

John & Jennifer...Audubon Park New Orleans Engagements

I love it when the forecast looks grim only to surprise with the most glorious of days!

John and Jennifer's engagement session was set for Audubon Park months in advance...and on a  day that the two could make it since they are long distance right now. John lives in DC while Jennifer is in Nola. The threat of rain is never fun for a steamy Louisiana day...especially when it hadn't stopped raining for weeks!

But...the rain held off...literally until the last minute when we all got in our cars to leave and the bottom fell out. So thankful for that timing and for such a wonderful morning getting to know these two.

Jennifer and John, I can't wait for the wedding day! You two are too cute. Thanks friends.

Photos Featured in ByFaith Magazine

Over a year later and I’ve only been able to talk about certain aspects of this day. This was one of the most challenging days and things I’ve ever experienced as a photographer. Never have I been so burdened by the suffering I saw and at the same time convinced there is a God who meets us in our suffering. Many thanks to ByFaith Magazine for showcasing these photos of people who were hurting, who are likely still living in a camp somewhere, and the stories of those who have answered the call to walk alongside the hurting. I’m continually thankful for the work of the missionaries of Mission to the World and those who are teaching us to "love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners”Deut.10:19

Brian & Chelsea...New Orleans Terrell House Wedding

Have I said before that the Terrell House is my fave venue in New Orleans? Because it is!

Brian and Chelsea were married there on April 22nd! They wanted to spend some good time around the New Orleans Garden District taking pictures along the route of a tour of the area they went on together. I always love it when couples want to set aside some time to get some great photos together!  It was a magical day!

Congratulations to Brian and Chelsea!

Tanner & Stephanie - Baton Rouge Engagements

Tanner and Stephanie are getting married in July and thankfully we got to sneak in some engagements before the Louisiana heat began it's annual overnight set-in!

We took these out at Tanner's family land in Slaughter, LA. If even for an afternoon, it's good for the soul to get out of the city and head out into the country.

Congrats to Stephanie and Tanner! Can't wait for the wedding day:)

Mark & Lisa's New Years Wedding! -- Baton Rouge

Lisa is one of the first people I met in college. She lived right down the hall in our dorm and became a fast friend to everyone she met. Her joy, love for adventure, and heart for others makes her hard not to love! When she told me about her New Years Eve wedding, her hopes for her wedding day being more than just a day to celebrate her and her guy but also the people around them, and about her guy who sounded just as awesome as she is, my reply was a resounding:

I'M IN!

I've been telling people that Mark and Lisa's wedding was done the right way. If you're going to do New Years, this is what you should do. Complete with confetti, family bands, surprise performances, gold & glitz, a choir, midnight kisses, a limbo stick and even gluten free desserts! What is there not to love?

Congrats you two. It was an honor and a joy. May the rest of your life be as fun, full and beautiful as this night was!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! And in keeping with one of my favorite parts of December (receiving all the wonderful holiday cards from friends and family) here is a year in review of all the families we got to serve! I don't get to do as many family photos as I used to anymore since I'm out of the country a lot, but I really love seeing the kids dressed in their best!

I'm thankful you've stopped by to see the latest and follow along my adventures this year.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. May your next year be merry and bright!

Reid & Camille....New Orleans French Quarter Wedding

You might remember Reid and Camille from earlier this year! We had a fun day of photos in the French Quarter and Cafe du Monde when we did their engagements.

Round two was a blast. Reid & Camille's wedding was at Latrobe's on Royal in the French Quarter in early December. It was a rainy day but the rain didn't threat an incredible second line all through the French Quarter to end a spectacular celebration!

Congrats you two! Wishing you all the best in marriage and your careers in sunny California!

Cohen Canal...Baton Rouge Newborn Photos!

I've known Allison and John-Cody for many many years. These two are high school sweethearts. I remember Allison telling me about a crush on John-Cody in high school. I remember when they got together, when they became our high school's prom king and queen and I even got to be at their wedding!

I haven't been in someone's home to do their family photos in a little while. This was a sweet morning just getting to see new life and new routines with these friends!

And now they have a little man! Cohen is precious and it was an honor to do these photos for sweet friends I've known for more than half my life.

Congratulations you two! He's beautiful and I can't wait to watch your family grow!

Kyle & Amanda's Baton Rouge Wedding - Old State Capitol

I love the Old State Capitol as a wedding and event venue.

You got your one-of-a-kind stairs, your beautiful architecture, your great location for out-of-towners, your history, and your all-in-one convenience. It's a winner for sure.

I first met Kyle and Amanda at that amazing Halloween themed wedding I did a few years ago! We had a blast being a part of Kyle and Amanda's Baton Rouge wedding. It was beautiful!

Congrats you two!

Thanks for stopping by!

Reid & Camille...New Orleans French Quarter Engagements

What do you get when you mix

1. a super fun couple willing to be silly, fun, and up for anything

2. a wedding venue that goes above and beyond for their clients

and

3. A city unlike any other with traditions, treats, and streets that are picturesque at every turn

???

Engagements and fun times like these.

Reid, Camille, and I had other plans for this shoot that fell through last minute.

We are so glad they did! Adventuring around the French Quarter never disappoints a photographer. And when it's spent with good company and amazing folks like the girls at Latrobe's on Royal...it's just a wonderful combination.

Congrats to Reid & Camille. They'll be getting married at Latrobe's (the balcony pictured here) in December! Can't wait.

Mrs. Miles Mick...Baton Rouge Bridals

Congratulations to Miles & Nicole married July 9, 2016!!

We did Nicole's bridals at the Old Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge on a rainy day much like today. But that didn't stop us from snapping some good pics.

More from Miles and Nicole's Wedding coming soon!

Tray & Emma..St. Francisville Wedding

I told someone the other day "man, I just love a Benton wedding!"

I've known Emma, her siblings, and her nieces and nephews for several years. I had the privilege of photographing Cary, Emma's sister, and Paul's wedding a couple of years ago. Some of the kiddos pictured here I got to babysit for several years right after college and the Benton family and their extended folks as well have continually been a huge encouragement in my pursuit to start and continue this business. I am thankful for the Bentons!

Tray and Emma's wedding was a beautiful southern summer evening wedding in one of the most beautiful areas of Louisiana, the one and only St. Francisville.

I'm honored to have been a part of it and wish you two so so many years of bliss! Congrats:)

Featured! Southern Bride Magazine

I'm honored to say we've been featured in Southern Bride Magazine

You might remember we did a styled shoot a little while back in honor of the women at Umucyo Sewing Cooperative in Kigali, Rwanda. After seeing my blog post about our work with the ladies in Kigali, Stephanie Ringler of Roses and Lace, a wedding coordinator in Baton Rouge was inspired to do a styled shoot that reflected some of the style of the shoot we did for Umucyo.

I'm honored to have been a part of it and thankful Southern Weddings featured us in their June print magazine! You can find it at any Barnes and Noble or Target and turn to page 100!:)

Also check out this blog post of all the images that inspired this styled shoot!

Tyler & Carolyn...Lafayette, Louisiana

Congratulations to Tyler & Carolyn!

These two met online just before Tyler went on a long vacation to the Ukarine for a while. Now living in Boston, they celebrated their wedding back in the boot where Tyler's roots are and had friends & family from all over the states join them. Needless to say I've enjoyed getting to know these two & sharing travel stories!

Wishing you guys the best!!
